Before you start
- A VIP workspace in your Dynamo organization.
- Access to the Facebook page your VIP community uses, so you can connect it.
- Your VIP list ready in one of two forms: a CSV of VIP user IDs, or a user property (such as a VIP flag) already arriving through the Audience API.
- 1
Connect your VIP Facebook page first
Before anything else, the Facebook page your VIP community uses has to be connected to Dynamo. Without a connected channel there is nothing for the VIP tools to read from, no matter how you define the audience afterwards.
Connect it from Manage Channels through Meta’s Facebook Login for Business flow. The "Connect a Channel" tutorial walks that end to end — do it for your VIP page, then come back here.
Tip: Make sure the organization selector at the top shows the right organization, and that you are in the VIP workspace rather than a Community one, before you connect.

Open VIP Center and see what is locked
In the left sidebar under VIP tools, click Overview to open the VIP Center. On a fresh workspace the Overview area behind is greyed out — the channel picker, Create New View, and Refresh are all disabled.
A card sits over it: "Create VIP Segment First — Define your VIP audience to unlock insights and analytics." That is the gate. Nothing in the VIP Center reports anything until the VIP audience exists.

Choose how to define the VIP audience
Click Create VIP Audience Property. The dialog asks how you want to define your VIP audience and offers two routes: User property or Upload CSV file.
The question-mark icon next to the button spells out the same choice: upload a CSV with a single column containing your VIP user IDs, or define a conditional user property to identify VIP users.
Tip: Pick CSV when you have a fixed, hand-picked list. Pick User property when VIP status is data your platform already tracks — that way the audience keeps itself current instead of going stale.

Option A: match a user property
Choose User property if you are connected to Dynamo’s Audience API and already send a VIP flag as one of your keys and values. The dialog gives you the same rule builder used elsewhere: pick the property, a comparison, and a value.
Here that is "D10x VIP User · boolean" set equal to true — every user arriving with that flag set becomes part of the VIP audience. The back arrow returns to the choice of method, and the trash icon clears the rule.
Tip: The property has to exist in your data before you can match on it. If your VIP flag is not in the picker, it is not reaching Dynamo yet — check what the Audience API is sending.

Option B: upload your VIP list
Choose Upload CSV file if your VIP list lives outside Dynamo. The file needs a single column containing your VIP user IDs — no headers to match, no extra columns.
This route does not need the Audience API at all, which makes it the quickest way to get a VIP workspace running. The trade-off is that the list is a snapshot: it only changes when you upload a new file.
Tip: If you start with a CSV, you can switch to a user property later once the flag is flowing through the API. Setting the property is what turns the audience from a fixed list into a live one.

See what unlocks
Once the VIP audience property is saved, the gate lifts. A VIP Users panel appears with how many VIPs Dynamo Identified and how many are Reachable, the property you defined is named underneath, and the view selector, Create New View, and Refresh all become usable.
The rest of the VIP tools in the sidebar now have an audience behind them too: VIP users for the people themselves, Super chat for conversations with them, and Assets creator and Library for the content you send. The "Read the VIP Overview" tutorial covers that dashboard in detail.
Tip: Segments in a VIP workspace search only your VIP property, so keeping that property accurate is what determines the reach of everything you build on top of it.

Your VIP workspace is live!
With the VIP audience defined, Overview starts reporting and the rest of the VIP tools — VIP users, Super chat, Assets creator, Library — have an audience to work with. Revisit the VIP audience property whenever your VIP criteria change.
