Connect Your Welcome Flow to a Click-to-Messenger Ad in Meta

After you build and save an ad flow in Dynamo, the final step lives on the Meta side: you connect your Welcome Flow to a Click-to-Messenger (CTM) ad inside Meta Ads Manager. Once connected, everyone who taps your ad opens Messenger directly into the welcome flow you designed.

This tutorial walks through creating an Engagement campaign, choosing your Facebook Page and Messenger as the destination, and selecting Dynamo as the Partner app with your saved message flow. Watch the full walkthrough above, or follow the step-by-step stills below.

Before you start

  • A saved ad flow in Dynamo with a Welcome Flow (see "Build an Ad Flow for Click-to-Messenger Ads").
  • Access to Meta Ads Manager with your Facebook Page and ad account connected.
  • Dynamo connected as a Partner app in your Meta business account.
  1. 1

Create a campaign with the Engagement or Sales objective

In Meta Ads Manager, click Create to start a new campaign. Keep the buying type as Auction.

Under Choose a campaign objective, select Engagement or Sales — both support Click-to-Messenger. Engagement is described as good for Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp, while Sales works well when you are optimizing for conversions. Click Continue.

Choose the Engagement or Sales objective, then Continue.
  2. 2

Set the conversion location and Facebook Page

At the ad set level, set Conversion location to Message destinations. Under Facebook Page, choose the Page that will represent your business in the ad and conversation.

Under Message destinations, pick Manual destination and check Messenger, so people who tap your ad are sent into a Messenger conversation.

Tip: Messenger must be selected as the destination — that is what lets your Dynamo welcome flow run inside the chat.

  3. 3

    Confirm your ad identity

Move to the ad level. In the Identity section, confirm the Facebook Page that will be used in your ad — any messages started from your ad will go to this Page.

Give the ad a name and confirm the Instagram profile if one is linked, then scroll down to the Ad setup.

  4. 4

Choose Partner app as the message template

In the Message template section, choose a template for beginning the chat after people tap your ad. Under Create new, select Partner app — this lets you use an existing message flow from a partner messaging app like Dynamo.

Click Select flow to open the Partner app dialog.

Select Partner app, then click Select flow.
  5. 5

Select Dynamo as the Partner app

In the Partner app dialog, keep the Select Message flow tab active. Under Partner app, choose your Dynamo app (for example Dynamo10x).

The Messenger preview on the right shows how the conversation opens for people who tap your ad.

    Choose your Dynamo partner app.
  6. 6

Pick your message flow and finish

Under Message flow, choose the flow that matches the Welcome flow title you set in Dynamo. The Messenger preview updates to show your welcome message and its buttons.

Click Finish to attach the flow, then Publish your ad. Your Click-to-Messenger ad is now connected to your Dynamo welcome flow.

Tip: The message flow name here matches the Welcome flow title from Dynamo — name it clearly so it is easy to find.

Select your message flow, then click Finish.

Your welcome flow is now live on your ad!

Once you click Finish and publish, anyone who taps your Click-to-Messenger ad opens Messenger straight into your Dynamo welcome flow — and the drip campaign follows automatically. You can update the flow in Dynamo any time and the changes appear in your ad.
